Nanny-level ChatGPT Registration Tutorial

Today, I went through the process again and compiled some of the most common questions regarding registration processes found online, and provided some practical methods for everyone; for those who cannot meet the conditions, I will provide domestic sites that can directly call Open AI and shared accounts without registration in the earlier section.

For those who have the conditions, who like to research and only want to use their own accounts to play with the genuine GPT, you can see the end; the tutorial is quite detailed, and I hope it is friendly for beginners; if you still have other issues during the registration process, feel free to leave a message.

Prerequisites

Prepare a foreign network environment and enable global proxy.
Register a ChatGPT account and complete email verification.
Receive the mobile verification code through an SMS receiving platform to complete verification.
Log in with your email and start using ChatGPT!
Special emphasis: If you encounter errors such as access denied or region unavailable during the following tutorial operations, it is assumed that your proxy is unavailable, and it is recommended to switch and try a few more.

Register ChatGPT

The entire process assumes that you have already enabled a foreign network environment (proxy nodes outside of mainland China and Hong Kong), and the subsequent tutorial will not repeatedly emphasize this.

Email Verification

Enter the registration page.
Fill in your email account (preferably a Google email, which easily receives verification codes; if not, you can use QQ email, which may not receive it or may take several minutes, but I have tested it and it can be received, just be patient; note that NetEase 163 email cannot be registered).
After filling it out, send the email verification.
Enter the Google email verification code to complete (if it is a QQ email, a verification link will be sent by default, click the link to complete verification).

I registered using my Gmail and QQ email, both of which I have tested and found to be usable; 163 is not usable.

Possible Issues and Solutions:

Registration currently unavailable: You used a 163 or other email that cannot be used for registration; just switch the email.
Too many sign-ups from the same IP: This may be due to frequently clicking the registration button, or it could be crowded with users registering in the same region; just switch the proxy and try again.

SMS Verification

After the email verification is successful, we will enter the information filling interface (you can fill in any name and surname), after filling it out, click next.
Enter the mobile number verification stage. Since domestic mobile numbers cannot register, we need to purchase a foreign virtual mobile number. There are many SMS receiving platforms, here we take smsactivate as the most common example.

Go to the SMS official website, first register your own account on this platform, on the left sidebar, you will see a dedicated virtual mobile number for OpenAI registration, click to purchase a virtual mobile number (try to avoid North American regions), recharge your balance to make the purchase (a virtual mobile number costs a few yuan, note that the recharge is in dollars, recharging 1 dollar is basically enough, you can see Alipay payment by scrolling down), a verification code receiving area for the virtual mobile number will appear below.
Return to the ChatGPT registration interface, select the country where you purchased the mobile number, copy the SMS platform mobile number and paste it into the ChatGPT registration field (note to delete the first two digits - area code), the prompt below asks whether to select WhatsApp, choose NO, click Send Code via SMS to send the verification code, after receiving the verification code, there will be a prompt sound on the SMS website, paste it after receiving to complete the verification.

Possible Issues and Solutions:

Long time without receiving the verification code: The receiving platform cannot guarantee that it will receive the verification code 100% of the time; some may need to wait a few minutes or even longer. If you haven't received it after about ten minutes, it indicates invalidity, just purchase a new virtual mobile number directly.
Prompt for frequently sending verification codes or this number cannot be used: Generally, if you click send once and do not receive it, you can try again after a few minutes; frequent sending will prompt that it is too frequent and restricted. The best solution for this kind of problem is to purchase a new number to perfectly solve it.

I tested three regions: India, Indonesia, and Malaysia. Malaysia and Indonesia received it, but of course, it varies from person to person; this is for reference only.

Possible Issues and Solutions:

If you are stuck on a page while logging in, most of the time it is a proxy issue; please switch to another regional proxy.
ChatGPT is at capacity right now. This is because there are too many customers accessing the OpenAI official website, and the server is overloaded; it is recommended to use it at a different time.
