Q&A Session | Issue 1

1. If good people do not receive good rewards, should we still be good people?

If the meaning of being a good person is to ensure good rewards for oneself, then one will never escape the dead cycle of worldly laws. One's fate and choices must be firmly held in one's own hands.

Do not be a good person kidnapped by the secular world, nor be a bad person afraid of bearing a bad reputation.

2. Is reading too little or not loving to think more fatal?**

Linking pure reading and thinking with fatality, I believe, loses the original meaning of both.

Reading and thinking are among the greatest joys and blessings in life; there is no need to be constrained by the results. What matters is the process, the sparks of thought, and the stirring of the soul.

3. Why study philosophy?**

Philosophy does not report any facts, so it cannot solve any problems using specific, physical methods. For example, it cannot grant immortality or make one wealthy, but it can provide a perspective from which one can see that life and death are no different, and gain and loss are intertwined. Viewed from a utilitarian perspective, philosophy indeed seems useless, but this viewpoint is also a guide for life, as Zhuangzi said, philosophy is "the use of the useless."

4. Science and philosophy, which has a higher status?**

One is natural science, and the other is social science; one is used for "development," and the other for "survival." There is no distinction of superiority between the two.

5. Does a philosophical question have an optimal solution?**

Under different "depths," at different "times," and under different "geographical conditions," the optimal solution is neither unique nor repeatable.
